Hong Kong has so many unique places to explore and visit with your family. Besides all the popular attractions, there are plenty of local or less known spots that should not be missed. One example that comes to mind is the Hong Kong Science Museum. In the words of my own kids, "it's way cooler than the one in Vancouver"! It's a world-class facility that's totally interactive, educational and good fun.

Another must for any family visiting Hong Kong is a ride up Victoria Peak on the Peak tram, which I believe is more than a century old. My children - aged 11, nine and seven - found this to be an exhilarating experience and marveled at the view of so many tall building below them. Without a question, this is one of the most panoramic views of any city in the world.

If your children need to burn off some excess built-up energy then head over to Kowloon Park. It's a huge urban park full with activities and adventure for the whole family. In addition to the great playground area, there is a fantastic Bird Park and creative tree maze where our children loved "getting lost" and playing tag.
