Lantau Island is the largest outlying island in Hong Kong. The island is known for its pristine countryside, virgin hills and lush green valleys.
The tour includes a visit to Ngong Ping 360, Hong Kong’s spectacular tourism attraction that features a stunning 5.7 kilometre cable car ride up a mountainside to Ngong Ping 360. The 25-minute journey offers breathtaking panoramic views encompassing the airport, the South China Sea, lush mountains and valleys, and the awe-inspiring Giant Buddha statue.
The cable car takes you to the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village, which incorporates three major attractions: Walking with Buddha, Monkey’s Tale Theatre and the Ngong Ping Tea House, along with a diverse array of shops and eateries.
You’ll also visit the famous Po Lin Monastery nearby, and view the world’s tallest, seated, outdoor bronze Buddha sitting atop 268 steps. A short walk away is the Wisdom Path, where you’ll find an ancient prayer inscribed on a series of wooden columns.
Another highlight of the tour is a visit to the historical fishing village at Tai O where Tanka boat people still live in their stilt houses today.
Note: From time to time, the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car service is closed for regularly scheduled maintenance. On such days, the tour will take alternative transportation to Ngong Ping 360.
