Sai Kung is fondly claimed as the 'back garden of Hong Kong', where city dwellers love to hike and camp in the bush green country park, fish or sail in the sheltered waters, BBQ or sunbathe on secluded beaches, swim or snorkel in the clear blue waters.

Beyond the tall skyscrapers and well away from the bustle of downtown Hong Kong lies Sai Kung, where majestic mountains sweep down to the blue ocean and this laid-back haven.

You'll first cruise Hebe Haven and Port Shelter, peaceful waters for sailing, yachting, scuba diving and squid fishing. Then visit the historic Hung Shing Temple, a UNESCO Heritage Site on Kau Sai Chau.

Reboard the boat and sail across the cluster of islands around the most southerly tip of the Sai Kung East Country Park. These outlying islands, part of Hong Kong Global Geopark of China, contain unique and diverse geological features, with rugged outlines, steep cliffy coastlines and dramatic volcanic rock columns.

The cruise continues to Rocky Harbour for sea caves and scenic coastlines. Finally you'll go ashore and walk along the waterfront promenade at Sai Kung Market Town lined with seafood restaurants on the landside, fishing boats and sampans on the seaside - more hidden treasures await.
