Hong Kong stays up late, but isn’t an early riser! If your flight arrives early in the morning or you’re up early and want to explore, here’s a list to help you make good use of your time before 10am.

Do breakfast at a coffee shop or a Cantonese canteen:

      • Redback Café opens at 6:00am (except Sundays and public holidays 8:00am)
        Address: 38 Peel Street, Central
      • Sing Heung Yuen opens from 8:00am
Address: Mee Lun House, 2 Mee Lun Street, Central

Or try traditional Yum Cha with dim sum:

        • Lin Heung Tea House opens 6:00am (Established in 1926, this is also one of the oldest tea houses in Hong Kong)
Address: 162 Wellington St, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Some sightseeing options:

  • Ride the Peak Tram up Victoria Peak before the crowds (operating hours start from 7:00am). Enjoy a magnificent view of Victoria Harbour and you can enjoy the peaceful Peak Circle Walk (Note: Sky Terrace does not open until 10am)
  • Stop into a city park to admire the gardens and watch some locals performing their morning Tai Chi and exercises
  • Cross Victoria Harbour from Central Ferry Pier on the popular Star Ferry. Enjoy the skyline along the harbour as people have been doing since 1888

  • Wander down Nathan Road and do some window shopping and people watching before all the retail therapy begins
